Which Viking appliances do we repair?
- Professional ranges: all-gas and dual-fuel, including the heavy commercial-style models found in many Weston kitchens
- Rangetops and cooktops: gas rangetops with griddles and charbroilers, and electric and induction cooktops
- Wall ovens: single and double, gas and electric
- Refrigeration: built-in refrigerators, freezers, columns and undercounter units
Viking built its reputation on bringing restaurant-style cooking into the home. The equipment is heavy and powerful, and parts like burner heads, igniters and door hinges are built for that use. Getting the right part for your exact model matters, so have the model and serial number ready when you call.
Why won’t my Viking burner light?
Start with what you can check safely:
- Is the burner wet? Boil-overs and cleaning leave moisture around the igniter. Let it dry fully before trying again.
- Are the ports clear? Food can clog the small burner ports. With the burner cool, clean the ports gently with a soft brush or a straightened paper clip, never a toothpick, which can snap off inside.
- Is the cap seated? The burner cap has to sit flat and centered, or the flame won’t catch evenly.
- Do you hear clicking? If every burner is silent, check the breaker and that the range is plugged in. The igniters need power even on an all-gas range.
If the burner is clean and dry and still won’t light, or the range keeps clicking with every knob off, the igniter or spark switch has usually failed. Those are routine replacements.
If you smell gas, don’t light anything or touch switches. Turn the burner off, get everyone out of the house, and call your gas company or 911 from outside.
Why won’t my Viking gas oven heat?
Most Viking gas ovens light the burner with a hot-surface igniter. The igniter has to get hot enough, and draw enough current, to open the gas valve. As it ages it can still glow orange but never reach that point, so the oven stays cold or takes a very long time to preheat. That is one of the most common oven repairs we do, on Viking and other brands.
If the oven heats but bakes too hot or too cold, the temperature sensor or the calibration is usually the cause. A door that doesn’t close fully lets heat escape too, and on heavy Viking doors the hinges and gasket do wear over time.
Viking refrigerator running warm
A warm Viking refrigerator usually comes down to a dusty condenser, a failed fan, a defrost problem, or, less often, a sealed-system fault. Check that the temperature setting hasn’t been bumped and that the doors close and seal, then call us if it doesn’t recover within a day. Sealed-system work has to be done by an EPA-certified technician, and we quote it in writing first.

Common questions
Viking repair in Weston, answered
Why does my Viking range keep clicking?
Usually moisture around the burner after a spill or cleaning. Let it dry fully. If it clicks with every knob off, a spark switch has likely failed and needs replacing.
My Viking oven igniter glows but the oven won’t heat. Why?
On a hot-surface ignition system, a worn igniter can glow without drawing enough current to open the gas valve. Replacing the igniter is the usual fix.
Is it worth repairing an older Viking range?
Usually. Viking ranges are built heavy, and igniters, switches, sensors, hinges and gaskets are all replaceable. We’ll tell you plainly if a repair doesn’t make financial sense.
My Viking is under warranty. Should I call you?
Contact Viking first, through Viking customer support. We handle repairs once the appliance is out of warranty.
