What does F11 mean on a Miele dishwasher?

On current Miele dishwashers, F11 is a drain fault: water is still in the wash cabinet when it shouldn’t be. Miele gives two common causes, and both can be checked at home:

  1. Switch the dishwasher off and unplug it.
  2. Take out the lower spray arm and the filter combination, and scoop out the standing water.
  3. Check the drain pump cover. If it isn’t seated correctly, water flows back into the cabinet. Remove it, rinse it, and push it back down until the catch engages and it sits flush.
  4. Clear the drain pump. Look for broken glass, labels, fruit pits or other debris, and check that the impeller turns freely.
  5. Reinstall everything, with the filter lying flat in the base, and run the program again.

If F11 comes back after that, the drain pump or the drain line needs a technician. Miele’s advice is the same: if the fault persists, call for service.

Miele washer and dryer repair

A Miele washer that won’t drain or spin usually has a blocked drain filter, often a coin, a button or a sock. The filter sits behind a small flap at the bottom front. Put a shallow tray and towels down before opening it, because water will come out. If the filter is clear and the washer still won’t drain, the drain pump is the next suspect.

Other washer calls include door locks that won’t release, leaks from the door seal, and noisy spinning from worn bearings.

A Miele dryer that takes too long almost always has a lint problem first. Clean the filters in the door opening after every load, and on heat-pump models also clean the plinth filter behind the flap at the bottom. If drying times stay long with clean filters, or the dryer shows a fault, the heat pump, a sensor or the control needs diagnosis.

Miele ovens and steam ovens

Miele ovens give clear messages when something is wrong, which speeds up diagnosis. The repairs we see most are heating elements, convection fan motors, temperature sensors and door seals. On steam ovens, the water container and the steam generator need regular descaling. Many steam-oven problems come from skipped descaling, and Miele’s operating instructions explain the routine for your model.

Is it worth repairing a Miele?

Usually. Miele builds its appliances for a long life, and most failures are a single part: a pump, a valve, a sensor, an element or a board. Replacing an integrated Miele dishwasher also means matching the custom panel, so a repair is often the better value. We give you the diagnosis and the price in writing, so you can decide with real numbers.

Common questions

Miele repair in Weston, answered

What does F11 mean on my Miele dishwasher?

On current models it is a drain fault. Unplug the dishwasher, remove the lower spray arm and filter, check that the drain pump cover is seated correctly and the pump is clear, then run the program again. If F11 returns, the pump or drain line needs service.

Why is my Miele dishwasher showing a Waterproof system fault?

Water has been detected in the base of the dishwasher, so the leak protection has shut off the water supply. It needs a technician to find and fix the leak and clear the fault.

Why is my Miele dryer taking so long?

Usually clogged lint filters. Clean the door filters every load, and on heat-pump models the plinth filter at the bottom too. If it’s still slow with clean filters, a sensor or the heat pump needs diagnosis.

My Miele is under warranty. Should I call you?

Contact Miele first, since warranty repairs go through Miele’s own service. We handle repairs once the appliance is out of warranty.

Do you use genuine Miele parts?
